Construction 3D printing specialist begins operations in the UAE
American company AC3D, which deals with construction 3D printing technologies, announced the start of its operations in the UAE. The announcement was made ahead of the upcoming Middle East Reverse Engineering and Additive Manufacturing Conference and Exhibition – ReAM 2023, which will be held from 25 to 27 September 2023 at the Festival Arena in Dubai.
AC3D founder and CEO Boris Kozlov said their mission to shape a more sustainable future for the construction sector begins in Dubai. In addition to reducing CO2 emissions and minimizing waste, their vertically integrated technology paves the way for energy-efficient homes. This allows for free-form architectural designs, reducing construction waste and providing disaster resilience.
According to the statement, AC3D specializes in the production of construction robots, the development of proprietary printing material blends, advanced software solutions to optimize construction processes, and the design and 3D printing of entire buildings. The company aims to speed up construction processes, achieving up to four times faster speeds when using environmentally friendly printing materials. The company also uses 100% cement-free geopolymer for a virtually zero-cost construction process.
In August 2021, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, issued Decree No. (24), which aims to regulate the application of 3D printing technology in the construction sector of Dubai. In July 2023, Dubai Municipality issued the first license to build a private villa using 3D printing technology. The Dubai 3D Printing Strategy 2030 aims to achieve 25% penetration of 3D printed buildings across the UAE by 2030.
